RBRH BY LAWS
 
1. On the Journal and its Administration 
 
Art. 1 – The  Revista Brasileira de Recursos Hídricos - RBRH (Brazilian Journal on Water Resources) is a Scientific Publication of the Associação Brasileira de Recursos Hídricos – ABRH (Brazilian Association of  Water Resources). It is a continuation of the RHR - Revista Brasileira de Hidrologia e Recursos Hídricos (Brazilian Journal of Hydrology and Water Resources) published from 1978 to 1981, and of the RBE  - Revista Brasileira de Engenharia - Caderno de Recursos Hídricos (Brazilian Journal of Engineering- Water Resources Issue), published from 1982 to 1995. The administration of the RBRH journal is now ruled by these by laws, approved by the Board of Directors of ABRH at the meeting held on February 1, 2012. ,  
 
2. On the Purposes of RBRH
 
Art. 2. – The purpose of the Revista Brasileira de Recursos Hídricos is to disseminatte technical and scientific knowledge on water resources. 
 
Single Paragraph - - The scope of the journal is to cover  topics involving the following fields of knowledge: hydraulics, hydrology, relationship between water resources and environmental engineering,  hydrometeorology, irrigation, drainage, qualitative and quantitative management of water, limnology, hydrogeology, erosion, sedimentation, environmental technologies, water resources economics, measurement and instrumentation in water resources.  
 
3. On the Editorial Committee 
 
Art. 3. – The Revista Brasileira de Recursos Hídricos will be managed by the Editorial Committee consisting of a Chief  Editor, the associate editors and an Executive Secretary. 
 
Paragraph 1 – The members referred to in the heading of Art.3 should be researchers in activities recognized by the national and international scientific community.  
 
Paragraph 2 - The position of Executive Secretary will be held  by the Director of Publications of ABRH. His job will be to advise the Chief Editor on the status of the journal activities, besides dealing with issues involving the indexation and funding of the journal. 
 
Paragraph 3 – ABRH will provide the operational means for the Editorial Committee to manage the RBRH journal. 
 
Art. 4. – The members of the Editorial Committee of RBRH journal will be chosen by the Chief Editor and submitted to the ABRH Board of Directors. Single Paragraph – The Editorial Committee must undergo a minimum partial periodic renewal by replacing two of its members at the end of each two-year term.  
 
Art. 5. – The  Board of Directors of ABRH regarding RBRH is charged with: 
 
1. Choosing the Chief Editor every 4(four) years;
2. Evaluating modifying and approving the members of the Editorial Committee of RBRH; 
3. Approving the editorial policy of the journal submitted by the Editor and Editorial Committee
 
Art.6. – The Editorial Committee is charged with: 
 
1. Discussing the acceptance of  articles submitted to the RBRH journal; 
2. Drawing up and  updating the editorial policy  of the RBRH journal, submitting it to the Board of Directors of ABRH for approval; 
3. Submitting the outsourcing of editorial tasks enabling the publication of RBRH to the approval of the Board of Directors of ABRH  
4. Submitting to the approval of the Board of Directors of ABRH any change in the format of the RBRH journal; 
5. Taking responsibility for the selection and edition process of the articles to be published in the RBRH journal. 
 
Art. 7. – Every 4(four) years, a Council formed by the Editorial Committee of  RBRH and the Board of Directors of ABRH will choose the Chief Editor.  
 
Single Paragraph -  The Chief-Editor can be reappointed to the position at the time of choosing a new Chief Editor.  
 
Art. 8. – The Chief Editor of the RBRH journal is charged with: 
 
1. Presenting a report on the activities of the Editorial Committee at the meetings of the Board of Directors of ABRH; 
2. Representing  the RBRH journal at ABRH and in any other appropriate forum; 
3. Chairing and calling the meetings of the Editorial Committee of the RBRH journal; 
4. To indicate and appoint members of the Editorial Committee of RBRH journal to perform specific tasks within the scope  conferred on them by these bylaws; 
5. The Chief Editor may, at any time, modify the list of editors when an exclusion request is made, because activities have not been carried out  and for other actions that are harmful to the smooth operation of the journal.  
 
4. On the modifications of these By Laws 
 
Art. 9. – These by laws can be modified at any time at the discretion of the Board of Directors of ABRH. 
 
5. General and Transitional Provisions
 
Art. 10. – Cases not mentioned  in these By Laws will be solved by the Editorial Committee of RBRH and later confirmed by the Board of Directors of ABRH.   
 
Single Paragraph – Cases not solved by the Editorial Committee will, as a first resort,be solved by the Board of Directors of ABRH.
